Early Elementary Teacher
General Summary
Virtus Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Elementary Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing, engaging, and academically challenging classroom environment that supports the development of young learners. This role requires strong classroom management skills, a commitment to student-centered instruction, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and administrators.
Essential Job Functions
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with state standards and Virtus Academy’s curriculum.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student growth and learning.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
- Establish and maintain effective classroom management strategies.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to support student success.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school-wide activities.
- Integrate technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student learning.
- Uphold the mission, vision, and values of Virtus Academy.
Minimum Qualifications or Standards Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (required).
- Valid teaching certification in Elementary Education (or ability to obtain one).
- Prior teaching experience in early elementary grades preferred.
- Strong knowledge of child development and instructional best practices.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and parents.
