ABA Therapist
General Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate ABA Therapist to join our team at Virtus Academy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, experience working with special needs students, and a passion for helping students succeed. As an ABA Therapist, you will play an integral role in implementing behavioral interventions, supporting the educational goals outlined in students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and working closely with our multidisciplinary team.
Essential Job Functions
- Implement ABA therapy techniques as outlined in students’ IEPs to support their academic and behavioral development.
- Provide direct one-on-one or small group therapy sessions for students from grades K-12.
- Ensure service minutes outlined in students’ IEPs are met in a timely and effective manner.
- Maintain accurate documentation of services provided, including progress notes, behavior tracking, and assessment data.
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing valuable insights and updates on student progress.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other staff members to ensure consistent implementation of behavioral strategies.
- Support students in the classroom setting as needed, ensuring their social, academic, and emotional needs are met.
Minimum Qualifications or Standards Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Social Work, or a related field.
- ABA therapy training and experience required.
- Current certification (e.g., BCBA, RBT) is preferred.
- Experience working with special needs students, particularly in grades K-12, preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to maintain professional documentation and adhere to confidentiality standards.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of students.
