Virtus Academy Announces Toni Brandt as Chief Executive Officer

Virtus Academy is pleased to announce the promotion of Toni Brandt from Chief Academic Officer to Chief Executive Officer, effective July 1, 2025. Brandt will succeed Dr. Brian Carpenter, who agreed to provide interim leadership to the school two years ago in order to get the new upper campus facilities completed.

Brandt has been an integral part of Virtus Academy for 3 years, serving as Chief Academic Officer since June 2024. During her tenure, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership, a deep commitment to student success, and a passion for innovative educational practices. Her contributions have significantly enhanced the academy’s academic programs and fostered a positive learning environment.

“Toni’s proven track record and unwavering dedication to our staff and students make her the ideal leader for Virtus Academy,” said Dr. Brian Carpenter. “I have had the pleasure of working closely with her and have witnessed her exceptional abilities firsthand. I am confident that she will guide the academy to even greater heights.”

As Chief Executive Officer, Brandt will oversee all aspects of Virtus Academy’s operations, including academic programs, faculty development, and strategic planning. She will work closely with the board of directors, faculty, staff, parents, and students to ensure the academy continues to provide a high-quality, transformative education.

“I am deeply grateful to the Board for selecting me as the next Leader of Virtus Academy,” said Toni Brandt. “It is an honor to be part of an institution with a long-standing vision of providing our community with a choice in public school education that seeks to meet the unique needs of each child. I look forward to working together to continue driving excellence for both our students and staff as we build on this important mission.”

Dr. Thomas Ducey, Chair of the Virtus Academy Board of Directors, also expressed his enthusiasm for Brandt’s appointment. “Toni’s leadership and vision are precisely what Virtus Academy needs as we move forward,” said Dr. Ducey. “Her commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and excellence will undoubtedly benefit our students and the entire academy community. We are excited for this new chapter under her leadership.”

Lindsay Privette, Search Committee Chair and Board Treasurer, said, “After an extensive selection process that included evaluating nearly 50 candidates, I am confident that Mrs. Brandt has the vision and passion to lead the school into this next exciting chapter”.
