eLearning

Virtus Academy is designated as an eLearning School. Those schools who meet the criteria for an eLearning School as determined by the Department of Education may use up to five eLearning days to allow for the make-up of short-term disruptions to in-person teaching and learning.

Expectations

During eLearning Days, all students are expected to actively engage in learning through Google Classroom. These days are counted as official instructional days and attendance and participation are required.

Daily Expectations

  • Check Google Classroom by 8:00 AM for assignments, instructions, and messages from your teachers for students in 5K-6th grade.
  • Check Google Classroom by 8:30 AM for block 1 and at the beginning of each block thereafter for students in 7th-12th grades. Students in 7th-12th grades do not need to check in for lunch or advisement.
  • Complete and submit all assignments by the deadlines provided for each class. Assignments will be used to determine attendance and participation.
  • Communicate with your teachers using Google Classroom comments, email, or other school-approved platforms if you have questions or need help.
  • Follow all behavior and academic integrity policies, just as you would in the physical classroom.
  • Attend any scheduled live sessions or check-ins, if assigned by your teacher. Be sure that your camera is on and that you are following directions regarding having your microphone on or muted.

Students who do not log in and complete assignments may be marked absent for the day unless prior arrangements have been made.
