Executive Assistant

General Summary

Do you naturally enjoy making lists, scheduling things, and coordinating details so that things run smoothly? If so, and you’re interested in working mostly remotely about 20 to 30 hours a week, then the job of executive assistant to our managing consultant may be for you.

Essential Job Functions

● Maintain the managing consultant’s calendar by coordinating
requests from individuals and groups that want to meet with him
● Filter the managing director’s emails
● Assist the managing director in maintaining his to-do lists
● Relay information from the managing director to others and vice
versa
● Receive and place occasional calls on the managing director’s
behalf
● Take notes on behalf of the managing director during meetings
● Upload documents to the managing director’s files
● Remind the managing director of impending deadlines
● Assist the managing director in preparing for board meetings

General Job Functions

Job Specifications

  • No particular formal education or experience is required, however, candidates that have completed related training through such programs as Google are preferred.

Minimum Qualifications or Standards Required to Perform Essential Job Functions

Knowledge

  • Strong compositional skills (e.g., for drafting correspondence)
  • Reasonably proficient at navigating in the online environment, especially Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google Docs, Google Sheets and Gmail
  • Able to organize large quantities of information
  • Skills/Effort/Disposition
    • Professional, courteous, personable, devoted to the success of students
    • Able to see how apparently unrelated things may connect (e.g., how a compliance requirement in one document may be related to a different task in a list)
    • Self-starter
    • Derive professional satisfaction working largely behind the scenes
    • Uncompromisingly safeguard sensitive/confidential information

    Working Conditions

    • Largely remote, though frequent trips to the school or other public venues will be required as needed
    • Must be consistently available by phone or email, including evenings and weekends

    Evaluation 

    The nature of performance evaluation for this position is continuously formative rather than summative, with an emphasis on improvement.
